Abstract

The rich experience in ultrasonic examinations of welds on wide range of steel structures, hydropower plant components, pressure vessels and other capital equipment, has caused a need for accessories for automatic recording of examination results. Complex recording of examination results including measuring of position of the probe and direction of the sound beam, would increase productivity and reliability of manual ultrasonic scanning. Requirements and conditions for such measurement and recording equipment were formulated in our own development work. No such system that supports manual testing, was available in the satisfactory form.
