This paper describes, in detail, about application of various non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques, particularly, ultrasonic testing and X-ray radiography on the spiral weld pipes. This paper also gives an account of experiences gained in the field of application of these NDT techniques and future plan for augmentation of the same to fulfil the ever increasing stringent quality requirements of the pipe customers.
