ABSTRACT
NDT has been extensively used in military material for quality control of some types of forging and welding structures. This paper company - widely reviews the past decade which have utilized NDT to quickly identify both sudden and gradual failure cases, and efficiently"kaizen" the state of that situation. Failure or defect components of some missiles are presented here as kinds of these typical examples:
Use X-ray to locate the failed limit switch in hydraulic actuation system.
Use X-ray to identify the failure cause for an arming safe device (ASD).
Use magnetic particle testing to select the raw material of V- band, also monitor the crack propagation during flight service to prevent the failure and improve its quality.
