ABSTRACT
This paper will outline the discovery of X-rays by W.C. Roentgen in 1895 and the discovery of radioactivity by Becquerel in 1896, which together have led to the development of industrial radiography. The highlights of the early history of industrial radiography will be described, leading to the widespread use of X-rays and Gamma-rays in non-destructive testing applications today. the capabilities and limitations of industrial radiography together with a survey of the latest developments will be discussed.
