<1.02 Mev). Comprehensively considering our understanding and findings on Photoelectric Effect, Thomson Effect and Compton Effect, we have drawn the following empirical formula to describe relationship between X-ray attenuation coefficient and X-ray incident energy:

where is photon energy and A, B, C, D, E and F are constants which change with different perforated materials. The units of A through to F are all cm-1 according to dimensions. Formula (1) agrees well with actual appliance.
Combining theories in Atomology, we have derived the formula to show the correlation between X-ray attenuation coefficient and tube voltage as follows:

where V is tube voltage and K is a constant related to filtered waves through the substance.
Formula (2) agrees well with practical cases. This paper suggests manufacturer provide K values of X-ray machine in different cases to facilitate analysis and application.
