Excitation was given using both an impulse hammer as well as an electro-dynamic shaker. A finite element analysis was conducted to correlate the results obtained using these experiment. Results show that, model frequencies and mode shapes may be used to identify the structural damages with certain sensitivity. Results also indicate that limited number of structural modes may be inadequate in structural damage diagnosis and cross diagnosis using multiple modal parameters is warranted.
