The proposed paper will analyse the energy system and its inspection and maintenance needs both on-shore and off-shore and at either on-stream or off-stream conditions. Simultaneously, shall also undertake the safety considerations in in-service welding, complexity evaluation of NDT application and applicability of alternative practices of different methods as well as preparatory needs in meeting the demand in terms of technology, equipment and manpower to cope with the upcoming activities in the next decade and for that matter by the turn of the century, so far as the services companies and regulatory bodies operating in Govt., Semi-Govt. and private sectors are concerned.
