An acoustic emission tester for aircraft Halon 1301 fire extinguisher spherical bottles has been developed. Over pressure is applied by heating the bottles. A fixture was designed which fits spheres with volumes between 1 and 30 liters. A prototype is currently under going testing in a commercial bottle repair and test facility.
