Application of Stress Wave Propagation for Quality Control in MW Manufacturing

ABSTRACT The stress wave propagation, one of the NDT-methods, was used to evaluate the modulus of elasticity of different types of MDF boards (thickness values: 4,5; 6 and 7,8 mm) for an online quality control after leaving the hot press. This measuring method leads to conclusions relating to the strength of MDF-boards based on the established acoustic wave velocity.
