With the help of neutron radiography, several corner connections of wooden materials were investigated concerning changing wetness distributions. Several samples were exposed to alternating climate conditions (wet / dry) and than placed for a short while under water. A significant correlation between visible effects and the kind of the connection was found out. The induced water gives large contrasts in the images compared to the background of the wooden matrix. A quantitative estimation of the water content can be extracted from the digitised image data.
