This session is intended to provide a forum
for current activities in technology transfer
and commercialization initiatives of interest
to the nondestructive testing community.
Invited panel members will describe the
current activities within their own
organizations and provide a foundation for
other companies, small and large, to improve
their technology transfer or
commercialization activities. Time will be
provided for discussion to determine the
effectiveness of the initiatives and allow for
alternative ideas to be brought forward. The
broad thrust of the combined panel offers
many insights into the role of technology
transfer and commercialization as it is
currently practiced in the United States and
provides opportunities for entrepreneurs to
learn where technology and assistance can be
found.

ASNT Central Certification
Program
Workshop and Panel Discussion
Chairman: George Moran,
Management Consulting Group
ASNT has developed a central certification
program which is designed to meet the needs
of the global NDT marketplace. Industry
demands increased reliability and quality of
NDT, along with increased performance of
NDT personnel. With this new central
certification program, employers will have
clear expectations of NDT personnel
competency and proficiency, while those
individuals performing NDT
will obtain portable certification recognizing
their occupational abilities. The program
takes into account the varying needs of
industrial sectors and provides for additional
certification endorsements to meet the
requirements of these sectors. The workshop will provide an opportunity
for you to learn details about the program and
ask questions of a panel from the ASNT
National Certification Board who were
instrumental in its development.
