ICNDT
International Committee for Nondestructive Testing
ICNDT is the world organization for NDT.
ICNDT was established by a group of International NDT experts in Brussels in1960.
The Objectives of ICNDT are:
- To be the International Organisation that acts as prime focus on Non-Destructive Testing for the benefit of the involved Community and the Public in general.
- To promote international collaboration in all matters relating to NDT
- To encourage the foundation, growth, development and co-operation of National and Regional NDT Societies.
- To assign the place and organization of the World NDT Conference to an appropriate NDT Society or group of Societies, at intervals of 4 years.
- To establish with Continental Groupings of NDT Societies, initiatives for implementing ICNDT policy.
- To encourage the formulation of International Standards on Non-Destructive Testing in Collaboration with the International Standards Organisation, and other standards bodies.
Within ICNDT, there is a Special Policy and General Purposes Committee (PGP), which has the task of defining the strategy of ICNDT.
The activity of ICNDT is carried out through the various working groups that have been established for specific tasks pertaining to NDT.
At present the working groups in operation are:
- Certification Harmonisation WG
- Task group to revise the ICNDT guidelines
- Internet WG
- Education WG
- Research WG
- Calibration WG
Since its foundation, the International Committee has grown from strength to strength with many new Countries joining the ranks of members.
Today ICNDT has more than 50 Country members.

ICNDT journal is issued quarterly with reports, news and events taking place within the International NDT world. Subscriptions can be made to the Secretariat.
