Digital UT Flaw Detectors ECHOGRAPH 1090
ECHOGRAPH 1090: Compact, Robust, Digital - Ultrasonic Testing Made Simple

The light-weight digital ultrasonic flaw detector ECHOGRAPH 1090 makes the ultrasonic testing simpler: The instrument, despite small housing size, is equipped with a very large (16.5 cm diagonal) colour display, where echo indications, results of measurements and the clearly arranged operating menu, can easily be read even from a larger distance. Convenient operation is also achieved by using the five programmable function keys for quick access of the most important instrument settings. Our ECHOGRAPH 1090 has a database for probes. This database can store up to 50 probes, including probes of other manufacturers. This eases the setup of the device and ensures that the data of the probe are correctly during the evaluation of the flaw size by distance gain size (DGS).

Furthermore, even users without deep knowledge about ultrasonic testing are guided through easy menu masks for probe selection and adjustment of the instrument. A special menu block for the user guidance in clear text is a new key feature of the instrument. The instrument is mounted into a robust aluminium housing including a built-in lithium-ions-accumulator (for up to 13 hours of operation). The total weight is only 1.6 kg. The extremely compact instrument of only 50 mm height contains high-speed digital ultrasonic electronics with a pulse reception frequency up to 1500 Hz, 2 monitor gates for measurement of time-of-flight and amplitude, a big A-scan storage and two control lights on the front panel for monitoring the exceeding of the threshold levels. Thus, the new ECHOGRAPH 1090 is the ideal instrument for the manual ultrasonic testing.

A protecting rubber holster, available in several colours, ensures stable positioning on a smooth surface and offers additional protection in a rough testing environment. The monitor signals can statistically be evaluated using a selectable threshold counter.. The flaw detector can also be used for simple automated testing tasks. A special rack-mount version with signal outputs and a pulse repetition frequency of up to 4 kHz is available.

The ECHOGRAPH 1090 is available in 3 versions:

  • 1090 Basic: is the ideal basic instrument for manual ultrasonic testing
  • 1090 DAC: offers additionally the echo evaluation according to the reference line method (DAC = distance amplitude correction)
  • 1090 DGS/DAC: offers furthermore the echo evaluation according to the DGS method (DGS = distance gain size)
