Reliably detecting cracks and corrosion as well as the thickness of walls or the integrity of weld seams, this has been the field of MPV all along since the company was established in 1983, Backed by the expert know-how of its founder, owner and Managing Director Goeran Vogt in non-destructive material testing, MPV was set out to render comprehensive testing services to industries, in the MPV laboratory or at customer's facilities for production or on site inspection services.

Within few more than two decades, MPV has succeeded in making an excellent name for itself as a competent and reliable partner for the most intricate and demanding testing and quality assurance tasks. Today, companies from all fields of industry above all from the metalworking, the electrical and energy supply industries, put their trust in the know-how and the reliability of the accredited (DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025) MPV services including the likes of MAN Technologie, ALSTOM, Astrium, AUDI, EXXON, Cameron, Deutsche Bahn Netz AG, Holborn Raffinerie, Wintershall, Cosworth and many more.

Non-destructive, ultrasonic material testing has proven to be a highly efficient means of quality insurance in production processes reliably controlling the thickness and the integrity of surfaces, welding seams etc. as well as for regular on site inspection in operation. However, ultrasonic testing requires valuable systems and experienced personnel, i.e. heavy investments which pay out well in large series production but can be too expensive for small and medium batches.

Outsourcing, therefore, often is a viable alternative and that's where MPV comes in as a competent and experienced partner. MPV is in command of a variety of state-of-the-art stationary and mobile ultrasonic testing units up to turnkey modular non-destructive testing systems for a wide variety of industrial applications. The systems incorporate advanced ultrasonic scanners including immersion scanners, PC-based digital technologies for high-speed imaging and data acquisition as well as processing hardware and software combined with high-precision mechanics. Made up from a variety of purposed-tailored modules, the systems can be easily adapted to any specific application and they all are designed to meet the highest demands of industry.

In addition, the company has a highly qualified and experienced team of engineers engaged in the continuous research, development and optimisation of testing equipment to latest technological findings and thus capable of quickly and reliably performing any testing or quality assurance task to highest standards of accuracy and precision. Thanks to its proven competence, MPV has been accredited by German authorities for the manual and mechanized, automated ultrasonic non-destructive material testing, for magnetic particle surface crack inspection, dye penetration inspection techniques, X-ray testing and many more. With MPV customers thus can be sure of optimum quality assurance.

In close co-operation with customers, testing parameters are agreed upon and pre-set and all parameters as well as the exact position of the scanner and the testing heard are being stored, in order to facilitate repeated tests of parts over a period of time, which can the be executed without costly preparation. Fully automated scanning enables MPV to reliable tests even demanding and highly complex parts such as rotationally symmetrical or flat components with minimum personnel cost. With a sophisticated range of portable ultrasonic scanners, MPV is in the position to test parts on site at customer's facilities or reliably execute regular manual inspections at pressure vessels, pipes etc. If required, MPV even installs the complete ultrasonic immersion system at customer's site for a certain period of time and has it operated by experienced MPV-personnel.

The range of applications is almost unlimited and includes all sorts of components for the automotive, aircraft or aerospace industries, the metalworking or the plastics processing trades. Apart from testing the volume, MPV tests surfaces as to cracks and fissures or all kind of welding seams including conventional, laser or electronic beam welding.

Whether corrosion and erosion inspection of pressure tanks, crack depth measurement of a ball valve to determine crack extent and progression, dye penetration tests of an air turbine in a wind tunnel, the detection of hydrogen induced cracks in pipelines or bolt expansion tests to ensure the safety of bolted connections - MPV has exactly the right systems to reliably perform even the most intricate tests.
