Materials Research Institute provides Training
and Consulting to the NDT industry.

Training tools provided include
  • Home study correspondence courses (UT, ECT, LPI and MPI)
    (meets CGSB, ASNT-TC-1A ISO standards)
  • NDT Problem Solver Software (solving standard equations in UT, RT and ECT)
  • NDT Testmaker Software (over 5000 multiple choice questions and a question editor package)

Consulting is provided to the nuclear and petrochemical industry to assist clients developing NDT techniques and to evaluate existing techniques and inspection systems.

Example of Services:

Positioning scanning head on 48" diameter pipe on the Canadian prairies. Daytime summer temperatures often reach 35°to 40°C. (Shaw Pipeline Services)
Loading the scanning head on a 42" diameter pipe in the winter northern Ontario. Equipment must also be able to perform under conditions of daytime highs of -40°C. (RTD Quality Services Ltd.)
