The Ingenieurburo Dr. Hiliger was founded in 1984 in order to develop special ultrasonic imaging systems for high-tech materials like composites, ceramics and materials with high sound damping as concrete components. These materials require special adaptions of ultrasonic testing in order to have results with a high degree of evidence. Typical highlights are high frequency up to 120 MHz, high precision digital single shot peak detector up to 84 dB dynamic range, DAC-amplifier up to 60 dB programmable with any function in 1024 points. The built-in computer enables all settings and the storage of data and the real-time display of A-, B-, Bt-, C, and D-scans. Different types of manual scanning and motor driven manipulators (up to a length of 16 m) are available.

Product Range

The HFUS 2000 ultrasonic imaging system enables the inspection of composites (used by CASA in Spain horizontal stabiliser of the AIRBUS A 340), ceramics and metallic components with extreme high resolution. The large bandwidth of 120MHz makes the separation of the interface and backwall echo of a 0,1 mm razor blade possible. The software Scan 2.0 manages fast scanning of areas with up to 16.000 * 16.000 points, displays and stores the results in real-time with all settings and user comments. A-, B-, C- and D-scans can be translated for the use in word processing systems.

The "Scan Machine 2400"is a turn-key low cost version of the HFUS 2000 which is useful for all ultrasonic applications up to 25MHz.

The highlight of the low frequency imaging system NFUS 2300 (f = 30 kHz to 10 MHz) is the application of echo-technique to concrete. The component under test has to be handled only from one side. Inspections of concrete buildings, such as bridges and tunnel tubes are possible because of the 60 dBDAC-amplifier and the special signal processing. The NFUS 2300 also delivers excellent results for honeycomb-materials.
