What does "NDTnet" stand for?

NDTnet is produced by Rolf Diederichs and provides online information for the nondestructive testing professions on the Internet since 1996. The information is presented as an electronic Journal with monthly issues featuring topical professional articles. The Journal offers reliable, useful knowledge, information and data collections on NDT technology, collected and managed in a database form. NDTnet maximizes opportunities for users to meet, expand their networks of professional contacts, and participate in online workshops. NDTnet will continue to provide the highest quality services.

As an private independent company one of our main goals is to provide an objective service for worldwide users. Submissions from all countries are welcome. Especially now, this new structure for global interaction is needed. Whatever the size of your company or your nation, wherever you are in the world, NDTnet makes it possible for you to participate in the world wide market.

NDTnet offers all NDT Publishers of Conferences and Journals a free Internet publishing service for abstracts and articles, and in addition we offer CD-ROM proceedings. That means we create and host the electronic addition of conference proceedings or other publications on our Internet Database free of charge. Proposal Collaboration is for all beneficially The public can easily find NDT information. Societies may provide their own Homepages, however do not need to establish an expensive database work. NDTnet is a commercial unit which operates a public access NDT database. NDT provides a customized database query form which can be integrated at all society homepages.

How it began

Throughout 1995 Rolf Diederichs was an active participant in the NDT Newsgroup. Inspired by the international flavour of the Newsgroup input, Rolf pondered the next step in Internet development for NDT. The first edition of the UT online Journal was put on the WorldWide Web January 1st 1996. In January 1997 UTonline obtained its own domain, becoming the NDT Network "http://www.ndt.net" just in time to launch the first NDTnet Exhibition together with new information services for the complete range of NDT methods.
