I studied Telecommunication Engineering at the Engineering University in Köln and have 20 years working experience in the field of computerized Ultrasonic Systems, specifically in the area of Nondestructive Testing and Process Control. I worked in Development, Engineering, After Sales Service, Applications, Sales, Product Marketing for Ultrasonic equipment and automatic testing machines (the first 15 Years in Krautkramer and after that 5 Years in Inoex). I am a member of the German Society DGZfP and I was a member of the American Society ASNT (until 1998).

I am both aware of, and enthusiastic about, the computers capabilities for serving the disciplines of Online, paperless marketing, publishing and engineering.

At the 1st. of January 1996 I started my self-employment with founding the Ultrasonic Testing online Journal (now NDT.net).

I enjoy spending my private time at home with my wife and children Michelle and Tamara. My hobbies (beside the Internet!) are more nature-based, such as horse riding, hiking, exploring coastal regions, canoeing, for instance in the Ardeché and Herault (South France), or tours in Israel's Golan, Sinai, and snorkeling in the Red Sea. As my constellation is cancer, it pulls me always towards the water. During the last Years we have made very often vacation in the area of Lodeve.
