ICNDT Meeting in Copenhagen

The ICNDT Meeting was held on Wednesday 27 MAY 1998 at 10.00 am in Copenhagen in conjunction with 7th ECNDT. At the ICNDT meeting on May 27, 1998 in Copenhagen, Denmark, Dr. Nardoni, the President, proposed the following constitution of ICNDT (draft version 0). It was voted by the full committee that the draft shall be referred to PGP Committee, which shall prepare the first draft by the next ICNDT meeting. PGP Committee requests members of ICNDT to submit their comments by August 31, 1998, so that it can be discussed at the Pan American Conference on NDT to be held in Toronto, Canada on September 14-18.

1 NAME

The organization hereafter described is named: INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE FOR NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTING. Its abbreviation is ICNDT sculptured in a world globe. The graphic symbol is the abbreviation name ICNDT printed in a world globe.

2 SCOPE

ICNDT is a non profit organization having the task to favor the development of Nondestructive Testing,through appropriate policy established by the National NDT Societies members of ICNDT.

3 FOREWORDS

The first nucleus of ICNDT has been grounded in Bruxelles since 1955. The main task of the Committee was to give up to the organization of World Conferences and to establish a permanent International referent on matter on Non-Destructive Testing. Across the years due to the development of NDT and the arising of new realities in the organizations of NDT a new establishment of the Committee has been revealed necessary.

4 OBJECTIVES

    4.1 - To be the International Organization that acts as primary referent on Non-Destructive Testing for the benefit of the involved Community and Public in general.

    4.2 - To assist the needs of National NDT Societies casted in ICNDT as permanent members. Encourage their foundation,growth and membership

    4.3 - To assign the place and organization of the World NDT Conference to a proper NDT Society

    4.4 - To establish, with Continental Organizations, made from NDT Societies grouped in a specific geographic area, common initiatives for improving the effectiveness of ICNDT policy.

    4.5 - To encourage the formulation of International Standards on Non- destructive testing in collaboration with international organizations, national standard bodies and other institutions appointed for it.

5. DELEGATES OF ICNDT

ICNDT shall be made up of two delegates for each Country nominated by the National NDT Society. They represent the official delegation of the Country in ICNDT. The Delegation may express one vote only. In case of vote the leader of the Delegation, appointed by the NDT Society shall give indications on the vote. In case of absence of the leader the second delegate shall have the right to vote.

6. MEMBERSHlP

Members of ICNDT are the National NDT Societies. Each Country have the right to nominate two Delegates. Others delegates may be added in the delegations, after advising the ICNDT Secretary.

7. OFFICERS

The officers of the ICNDT are the President, the vice-Presidents, the General Secretary, the treasurer and the administrative controllers The officers are elected from ICNDT through the vote of the Delegations of the Countries regular member of ICNDT.

8 STRUCTURE/ORGANIZATION OF ICNDT

The renewal of the officers of ICNDT will happen each four years in coincidence with the organization of the World Conference. The officers to be elected are:

10. RENEWAL OF DELEGATES

The renewal of ICNDT Delegates will happen each 4 years.. The proposal for the representatives of the Delegations shall arrive to the Secretary of ICNDT 6 months before the meeting. Delegates may be reelected. It is wish of ICNDT to maintain as possible, permanent delegates in the Committee, to favor the continuity and speediness of the work.

11. HONORARY MEMBERS

Members of ICNDT may be awarded with the title of honorary member for their distinguished activity in the frame of ICNDT objectives.

12. PGP COMMITTEE

PGP committee is a strategic committee nominated by ICNDT with the precise task to study the strategy that ICNDT shall apply in developing its activity. President of the PGP Committee is the Past President of the ICNDT Committee. Members of PGP Committee are:

The executive Committee has the task to give up to the realizations of decisions taken in the ICNDT. The executive Committee is made from the following members:

14. BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The board of directors is represented by ICNDT with its full delegates present. In case of vote each delegation present, may by express one vote only.

15. SECRETARIAT OF ICNDT

The Committee has for the its own purposes a secretariat managed by a Technical Director. The secretariat receive instructions from the general secretary of ICNDT, Executive Committee, PGP Committee.

16. ICNDT FUNDS

ICNDT activity is based on volunteer supports. The edition of documents, paper work, correspondence, hardware for e-mail/Internet installation, the network, and other items necessary to follow up the work established by ICNDT shall be supported by a fund administered by ICNDT
