WinTmaker TestMaker Software

Materials Research Institute announces the new Windows based software version of the NDT TestMaker software. Windows has allowed us to provide all the features of the previous versions plus many other practical enhancements.

The WinTmaker NDT TestMaker has added several new features: the ability to import images with the test questions, select tests randomly or using a "filter" select tests based on method and level or from the entire database select from either English or French question databases select to use one of several other language Graphic User Interfaces use Windows to address the printer preferred the convenience of CD ROM allows all the material to be provided in a single disk

With these tools the WinTmaker edition of the NDT TestMaker will make it a simple task to make questions or generate multiple choice tests for a training/study tool or provide an effective method for generating exams for certification programmes such as CGSB, ASNT, CEN and ISO.

WinTmaker software requires a 486 or higher IBM or compatible computer with a hard drive, 8Mbytes of RAM, 4Mbytes of free hard drive disk space, a CD ROM disk drive and Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 operating system.

The purpose of the TESTMAKER SOFTWARE is to compose and present randomised test questions in the various NDT disciplines. The test may be carried out on the computer monitor or it can be printed to allow production of "hardcopy" examinations.

Test questions are taken from a data base of NDT questions. Operators are given several options to choose from: NDT method to be tested level of difficulty number of questions to be asked test destination (i.e. screen or printer)

User performance is monitored and a score is displayed upon test completion when the 'on screen' option is chosen. Alternatively, when the 'print test' option is used an answer sheet is provided as part of the printout and this may also include the source of the question to allow the user to verify the details surrounding the question.

The editor portion of the programme allows modifications to all questions provided and permits the creation of new questions in any of the five NDT methods as well as questions in a user defined category.
