QMI's new product is called AIRMAX.
It is designed for air-coupled transducers only, with a frequency range
of 40 kHz to 200 kHz.
Typical applications are foam materials and the multiseptum honeycomb,
made of polyamid material with 6 septums, and having a thickness of 0.5
m.The picture shows this honeycomb with transmitter and receiver at 50
kHz. |

QMI also have extended the applications of the SONDA 007 C. Powerfull
200 kHz transducers are assembled in water suirters, aligned in
pitch-catch configuration, and separated by a sound barrier (picture).
This instrument is capable of detecting non-bonds between the cork layer
(up to 0.5 in thick) and the underlying cylindrical composite face
sheet, as well as damages to the face sheet. |
