Title : Advanced Industrial Tomograph for baggage control
Type Details : Development of Advanced Industrial Tomograph (AIT) with
penetrating radiation destined for automates explosives and weapons
detections in airports baggage, mail packages and for
anti-terrorist point control. The design is based on the
implementation of the following main key-solutions:-The dual energy
method for identifying the atomic number (Z) and the density (ñ)
of scanned objects, for obtaining a high accuracy of scanned
objects materials identification.-Inside baggage 3D objects shape
reconstruction by using a direct and fast 3D tomographic
reconstruction method.-2D and 3D Pattern recognition method for the
objects shape analysis.-Building a database of forbidden patterns,
correlated with the database with forbidden constituents (Z and ñ)
for dissemination in all baggage control systems.-High speed
scanning method based on simultaneous use of multi-line dual energy
detectors and multiple radiation sources.-High computational speed
by intensively use of the parallel processors technology.-A mixture
between traditional way of radioscopic inspection and tomographic
gradual investigation for speeding-up the entire process.
