EuroStrategy Consultants is a specialised industrial and business to business consultancy with offices in London, Paris and Brussels. The company has carried out a number of major industrial studies in many industrial areas throughout the European Union, in Eastern Europe and farther afield.
Our teams in London and Paris includes technical experts with knowledge of NDT, as well as business and financial consultants with many years experience. In Brussels, our market research office has had over thirty years experience of conducting complex multi-country studies.
The British Institute for Non-Destructive Testing has offered to support the project and EuroStrategy Consultants hope to obtain the support of other professional organisations. Alstom CND in France has also agreed in principle to participate.
Given sufficient buyers, the study will be available in Autumn of this year.
At the same time other sectors have grown - North Sea oil production, gas-fired power generation and component manufacturing. Yet others, particularly surface transport, are adopting NDT techniques as the demand on equipment and safety requirements get more stringent.
On the technical side, there have been developments which have, for example, reduced the importance of certain NDT techniques based on X-ray and Gamma Ray technology.
All this has had an influence on the financial structure and performance of companies in the NDT sector. In certain markets, such as the United Kingdom, NDT service providers and equipment manufacturers have experienced years of flat profits, pressure on price levels and intense competition. In others, such as France, there has been a high degree of concentration. Companies have amalgamated over national boundaries. The influence of USA companies with their larger domestic market, has increased in Europe. Despite this, no methodical research has been carried out on the effects of these developments for more than five years - well before such developments had affected the NDT market.
The overall objective of the study is to furnish clients with quantitative market data on the major European markets in order to understand what is going on in the NDT world. It will enable clients to base their future business activities on objective data. It will provide a view of what the likely future developments in the world NDT market are likely to be and assess how these will effect the structure of the market. It will help to identify growth areas and to assess how these can be exploited profitably. It will analyse the activities of the major European and world NDT players and their impacts on the domestic markets.
The study will not primarily be concerned with technical innovations except in respect to the effect these are likely to have on the growth and development of the NDT market.
It will look at the following markets in detail:
It will also look at other markets in Western and Eastern Europe in a less detailed way if development there are likely to have an impact on the principal markets. In addition, it will give an overview of the United States market and effects on developments.
The study will address four major topics -
