This advanced BOR capability enables operators to program up to 100 individual BOR sections within a single scan plan (i.e., for a single part or multiple parts stacked on a turntable). Each BOR section may be either a linear or curved profile: convex, concave, etc.
One of its first users, Aerospace Testing Lab Inc (ATL) of Windsor, CT put it to the test to inspect areas a complex sinusoidal metallic seal for a space related rocket engine. Without advanced BOR, this application could not have otherwise been C-Scanned. ATL has also used it on various composite space parts with tapered surfaces and flanges.
Prime users of such technology are laboratory based inspection service companies and manufacturing facilities in industries ranging from automotive to aerospace.
