This new manipulator has been designed to direct an ultrasonic transducer for the control in the immersion technique, mainly in the manual or semi automatic mode.
The Minimanipulator is designed to be fixed on any support equipped with a waterproof UHF connector and accepts the transducers equipped with UHF connectors.
The manipulator uses a special mounting developed for aeronautical ultrasonic tanks to link together the two connectors.
That allows to move the transducer in any direction.
Special care has been taken to eliminate any backlash
The Minimanipulator is equipped with three angulations:
- Main rotation: rotate around an axis (generally the vertical axis). Stroke is 360° without end stop.
- Primary gimbals rotate around a second axis (generally a horizontal axis). Stroke is +/- 135°.
- Secondary gimbals rotate around an axis perpendicular to the primary gimbals. The goal of this axis is to normalize the transducer. Stroke is +/- 3°.
The main rotation and the primary gimbal are equipped with graduated knobs that give 10° per revolution and each graduation gives 0.2°. Zero of the knobs can be adjusted at any position.
The secondary gimbals has no graduation
