Ultrasonic thickness indicators of the TAU class
Record Control Number : 28138
Quality Validation Date : 2002-07-19
Update Date : 2002-07-25
Abstract : The ultrasonic thickness indicators (UTI) are intended to measure
thickness of an article related to the time of ultrasonic wave
propagation. All devices of the TAU series allow to meter articles
that are subject to corrosion attacks. The transducer is kept upon
the surface at the expense of its contact with the penetrated.
- The ultrasonic thickness indicators have a high-level
responsivity and stability to clutters (Patent No 2158901) , which
simplifies the measuring process considerably and improves
reliability of outcomes.
- The instruments of this class are simple in use, have excellent
metrological performance, which allows testing the state of
machinery including use of untrained staff.
- This thickness indicator is the cheapest in the Russian market,
which allows having a major store of devices with the small cost.
- They require minimum operation expenditures, which include buying
batteries (all devices work with interior batteries) and
transducers. Our transducers, with construction being protected by
the Patent, are dismountable and can be reconstructed multiple
without substitution.
- The thickness indicators operate within a broad temperature range
from -40 up to +50°C, without drop of fidelity. That allows
utilising these devices in any climatic environment.
- They have friendly shape and sizes.
There is a sensor of high luminosity and special light screen,
which allows working with thickness indicators of the TAU class
with any interior lighting.
The outside calliper is driven only by three push buttons, however
they have more broad functional capacities as contrasted to by
analogs, namely: auto calibration of hold time of ultrasonic four
alternatives of calibration according to a speed of sound,
portrayal of the last outcome of measuring, portrayal of relaxation
of the battery. Besides, the devices TAU 538 allow storing about
4000 inspection outcomes, bunched in arbitrary number of blocks.
They allow to read outcomes at recording and reading and a number
of the saved block, allow to execute rapid reading of outcomes
manually, and to transfer data to the computer, and report about of
the users' errors.
The ultrasonic thickness indicators were tested and successfully
certificated as measuring facilities. Also there are favourable
opinions of experts who used to operate with our devices for the
purpose of ultrasonic inspection.
