Obituary
Joseph Edmund Pascente, 61, the founder of Lixi Inc., a Downers Grove firm
that specializes in industrial X-rays, died of cancer Friday, Oct. 26, in his
Oak Brook home. Born in Chicago and raised on the Northwest Side, Mr. Pascente founded the company in 1978. "He was a world traveler who had friends on every continent and virtually in every country," said his daughter, Deborah Lifka. Mr. Pascente was educated at Christian Brothers College in Memphis, where he earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He was a fisherman and a member of numerous professional societies. He "showed us that he was a fighter who had faith in God," his daughter said.
Mr. Pascente also is survived by his wife, Sandra; a son, Thomas; his mother, Violet; a brother, Christopher; two sisters, Kathleen Wallace and Dolores Wiel; and four grandchildren.
