Rising quality standards and strict safety regulations increase demand for skilled personnel for nondestructive testing. Therefore professional inspection of materials has become a significant market factor.
Classical training opportunities for X-ray operators however are not always welcomed by companies; on the one hand, such professional training is vital to remain competitive, on the other hand employees have to be absent for several days when attending these courses.
Flexible training
To solve this dilemma, YXLON International offers a specifically designed training course for industrial X-ray operators, called 'Web-based Training Real Time X-ray Imaging'. The course introduces the theory and practice of non-destructive testing and is completed after four weeks by means of a final test. The method of training via the Internet solves the problem of further training and offers a variety of advantages:
- Times of study can be coordinated with operating requirements
- Participants are therefore available during training
- Decreases expenses of up to 50%, as travel and other administrative costs are not
applicable
- Offers a high degree of planning flexibility, as booking is possible anytime
- Training is independent of location and time; exercises can be repeated as often as needed within four weeks.
By choosing the internet, new forms and liberties of knowledge transfer become available.
Individual learning
Participants set their own pace of study and determine which of the contents they want to repeat. Eight chapters contain the basic, theoretical knowledge to be acquired. Ample illustrations and graphics demonstrate physical information and helps to understand the subject better. A short multiple-choice test at the end of each theoretical chapter helps to judge strengths and weaknesses.
Theory and practice
Practical exercises can be carried out on a virtual model of YXLON's MU2000 X-ray system. Controlled by mouse, the system reacts to commands in real time. The exercises reflect the operational requirements and prepare the participants for their daily work.
Final Test
At the end of the four weeks, participants have to complete a final test within five hours. Cheating is impossible; in the time the final test is being taken, there is no access to the
theoretical and practical chapters. The participant is provided with the result (pass/fail), including an analysis of the given answers.
