Call for papers: Information Fusion in Industrial Inspection and Condition Monitoring

Call for papers for a special issue of Information Fusion International Journal on Multi-Sensor, Multi-Source Information Fusion on Information Fusion in Industrial Inspection and Condition Monitoring.

The Information Fusion Journal is planning a special issue devoted to information fusion in industrial inspection and condition monitoring. Quality control and reliability needs in industrial inspection and condition monitoring continue to become more and more stringent. These needs are beginning to be met through synergistic exploitation of multi-source information. The aim of this special issue is to highlight recent developments in the area that demonstrate the successful application of information fusion in the context of industrial inspection and condition monitoring.

Papers describing seminal work that highlight innovative applications of information fusion theory to solve practical problems are invited. Reports on new theories with an emphasis on solving the problem of inspection and monitoring will also be considered. The contributions should be original and must not have been presented and/or published previously (or currently under consideration) in any form or forum.

Topic appropriate for this special issue include, but are not limited to:

  • Multi-sensor system integration and implementation
  • Data alignment and registration
  • Online fusion algorithm implementation for condition monitoring
  • Data, Feature, and decision level fusion for inspection
  • Data fusion in nondestructive evaluation
  • New theoretical developments
  • Temporal information fusion

Authors should prepare the manuscript as per the guidelines described at (http://authors.elsevier.com/JournalDetail.html?PubID=620862&Precis= ). Manuscripts should be submitted online at http://www.elsubmit.com/esubmit/inffus. Simultaneously, please also send, without fail, an electronic copy in .PDF (preferred) or .ps format, to the Guest Editor(s)listed below.
