The Information Fusion Journal is planning a special issue devoted to information fusion in industrial inspection and condition monitoring. Quality control and reliability needs in industrial inspection and condition monitoring continue to become more and more stringent. These needs are beginning to be met through synergistic exploitation of multi-source information. The aim of this special issue is to highlight recent developments in the area that demonstrate the successful application of information fusion in the context of industrial inspection and condition monitoring. Papers describing seminal work that highlight innovative applications of information fusion theory to solve practical problems are invited. Reports on new theories with an emphasis on solving the problem of inspection and monitoring will also be considered. The contributions should be original and must not have been presented and/or published previously (or currently under consideration) in any form or forum.
