Since the end of November, a new software for fully-automatic X-ray inspection of Al wheels has been available in the market. YXLON.Al Rel. 9.0 (Automatic Inspector) is based on neural networks and offers a considerably improved user interface compared to the previous version. Simplified programming enables inspection programs to be installed and set up in a few minutes. In contrast to other fully-automatic inspection software in this field, the YXLON.Al divides an X-ray image into ROI's (regions of interest) where different inspection parameters and reject criteria can be applied. Unlike other techniques, this method makes it possible to compensate for various local disturbing factors such as image distortion or different geometrical magnifications. Voids can be measured and classified most precisely - with the effect that the inspection specification can be met exactly.
YXLON International, Hamburg, manufactures approx. 60% of all light metal alloy wheel X-ray inspection systems being installed worldwide. This new software is supplied as standard in all fully-automatic MU231 and WHEEL.6000 X-ray inspection systems.
