Return-Path:Date: Thu, 01 Aug 1996 15:38:46 +0200 From: Terje Lindrupsen Organization: MARINTEK To: info@ndt.net Subject: Request for information on Condition Monitoring Systems X-Url: http://www.ndt.net/exhibit/exh_idx.htm X-UIDL: d522d5e947fb63a327f11484788093be GATHERING OF INFORMATION FOR USE IN CONDITION-MONITORING DATABASE Based on our work in a project called "Technical Condition" in a research program called "PROSMAT 2000" - supported by the Research Council of Norway - we are trying to chart the usage of commerical "Condition Monitoring systems" for use in industry. See attachment for further description of the project. We are looking for suppliers of commercially used "Condition Monitoring- /inspection"-systems within all branches. We kindly request the following information from Your company: 1) Cataloges/brochures on your "Condition Monitoring-/inspection"-systems. We would like to have: - a technical description of the system - principles of the monitoring methodes - list of references of deliveries 2) The name of a contact person, if we should need more specific information about the system. 3) If possible, references to earlier projects, litterature supporting the use of these systems etc. The objective of the project "TC" is to develop a tool for use in determintion of long term maintenance and operation planning for the industry. By long term we mean a period of up to 5 - 10 years. To obtain this, it is crucial to be able to measure the technical condition of the plant. One of several activities is therefore the charting of todays (and tomorrows) commercial monitoring-/inspection-systems available. Information about these condition monitoring-/inspection-systems, and who their suppliers are, will be inserted into this database, and will be available for norweegean and international industries. The database will, among other, give the industry a summary of CM-systems which exists, and their purpose. The project consits of multiple professions and is supposed to cover all aspects of the industri, herein machinery, electric and static equipment, instrumentation and structures (piping etc.). The "Technical Condition"-project is meant to last for 4 years and has a budget of approximately 6,5 mill USD. The following companies are participating in the project: - Elkem (engineering company) - Forsmark Kraftgrupp AB (powerplant) - Kværner (engineering company) - Statoil (oil/gas company) - NTNU - Norweegean Institute of Technology (university) - Marintek / Sintef-group (research group) We hope that Your company will be able to answere this inquiry. Do not hesitate to contact us if you require further information.
