BROKEN TRAIN AXLE FOUND AT KIPLING

TORONTO, Nov. 14 /CNW/ - Initial investigation of last night's derailment shows a broken axle on the number 2 truck on the lead H6 subway car. The 126 H6 subway cars are the newest cars in the fleet and the axles are unique to this set of cars. ``We will be doing a thorough investigation of this axle and will be undertaking ultrasonic tests on the axles of the remaining H6 fleet'', said David Gunn, TTC Chief General Manager. Approximately 120 passengers were evacuated back to the Kipling Station. Service on the Bloor/Danforth line is back to normal operations.
