Magnetic wheels for scanner

I have done this two ways:

Magnetic Wheels Obtain torodial magnets (doughnuts) and sandwich the magnet between two mild steel round plates. The plates are in contact with the surface so the magnets do not get damaged. We used to purchase these magnets from a company in Australia called Sanwest +61 8 92726193 (fax). Maybe they can tell you of an agent in Europe.

Non Magnetic Wheels Leave the wheels rubber ie roller skate, roller blade wheels etc then just glue rare earth bar magnets to the underside of the crawler. This is the easiest approach and the magnets although are not in direct contact with the plate have sufficient pulling force to hold the carriage.

If you want a truly excellent twin crystal rotating UT probe I suggest you contact Silverwing in the UK (01792) 586044. This probe does not need couplant and saves a lot of hassels.

Kind Regards
