When using this technique (Double Side Double Exposure) it is important to remeber that even though youare looking at the front and back welds in a single film, you are evaluating the quality of a single thickness weld, and hence the required sensitivity level for the radiograph must be set according to that. This also means that in your Ug calculation you shall take into account the total diameter of the pipe, so that both sides of the weld (i.e. the one near the film and the one far away) will meet the Ug requirement.

: : hello guys...
: : i have some confusion.
: : 1- when interprect elips film.. in order to calculate the sensitivity do we used single wall or 2t .. and is the thicness based on parent material or added with capping ..for example t =4 mm and capping 1.5 as percode... what is the requirement for IQI used.. will it be group A or group B for elips film
: : 2- also on DWSI... for sensity calculation do we used single t or 2t... in order to make or used IQI selection.. please advise.. thank you in advance.
: Hi
: Sensitivity is calculated on single wall thickness including weld cap against thinest wire visible in the weld. Subtract 1 wire if IQI positioned on film side.
: Selection of IQI for DWSI is "t".
