Well, we have our own system for IRIS and RFT: I need a suggestion basing on previous experiences.
Being the heat exchanger vertical and 21 meters high, which kind of problem will we face performing IRIS inspection as far as water feeding is concerned?
Would we need a very high pressure to make the water circulated in two or more tubes linked by mean of a by pass?
Would you really suggest IRIS or RFT is enough?
Does anybody provides cables as long as 25 mt ?
We have a RFT probe for 3/4", but the cable is only 12-15 mt long: do we have to buy another probe with appropriate cable length, or we can only buy the cable and swap the probe on the longer cable?
Have you ever inspected this kind of heat exchanger ?
Thank you in advance for your kind reply.
: we have beenasked to perform the following testing:: Vertical Heat Exchanger
: Tube Length 21 m
: Tube Diameter 3/4"
: Tube Material T11
: Number of tubes 1885
: The heat exchanger has been out of service for the last 5 years.
: Which is the best inspection to suggest the customer ?
: Is it OK Remote Field or MFL for flaw detection and IRIS for flaw carachterization ?
: Will the verticality of the item affect the performance of the inspection ?: I would be very gratefull for your help.
: Best Regards.
