Born in 1948, at Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh, India, I graduated from Osmania University, Hyderabad, in 1966 with specialization in Physics. After a 1-year training in Nuclear and allied Physics, I joined Department of Atomic Energy, where I was involved in testing, inspection, Quality Control, first at Atomic Fuels Division, BARC, then at Coolant Tube Processing Facility, RAPP, Kota and from November 1971, at Nuclear Fuel Complex. In 1972, I graduated as a metallurgical engineer passing the AMIE (India) examination. Till October 2004, I was the Group Leader of an effective group of Physicists, and Engineers working in the field of Materials Inspection, Materials Testing and shop floor QC in the production of Pressure Vessels, Critical tubes and pipes in zirconium alloys, stainless steels etc., employing a variety of Destructive and NDT Methods. I also held ASNT Level III Certification in the fields of UT and RT from December 2000 to December 2005. I am actively involved in the NDT Training and Certification Activities.
From October 2004 to June 2008, I was the Head of HRD, Library and Corporate Communications. I retired at the end of June 2008. |
