: Is anybody familiar with US application for testing soil structure for layers.
: Is there any available information how to design transducers for such application.
: What would be the practical range (soil/earth penetration) for 50 Watts transducer (40kHz-200kHz)
: Any information is highly appreciated.

: Eugene Suchcicki (suchcice@par18.aph.gov.au)We use ultrasonic transducers in the range of 100 kHz for testing of concrete members (see our paper published in this workshop). It works for concrete with an aggregate size of 32 mm by means of synthetic aperture technique.
I am a little bit sceptical if it can work for soils because of air inclusions and cracks.
