Biography:
Gerardo Aranguren was born in Pamplona, Spain in 1960. He received M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in industrial engineering from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), Spain in 1984 and 1989, respectively. From 1986 to 1991, he was an Assistant Lecturer with the Electronic Technology Department, UPV/EHU. From 1991 to 1997, he served as Lecturer. Since 1997, he has been Professor of Electronic Technology in the same department, working in many European, Spanish and Basque Government Projects and on many projects with enterprises. His main projects focus on electronics for railways and planes. He currently leads the Electronic Design Research Group at the UPV/EHU and is the author of more than 80 journal and conference papers. His research interests include wired and wireless communications electronics, programmable logic devices, sensors, energy harvesting and embedded systems.
