Application of Kernel Change Detection Method in Eddy Current Non-destructive Testing (EC-NDT)
Abstract »This paper presents kernel change detection (KCD) method to solve inverse problem in Eddy-current non-destructive testing (EC-NDT). The goal of the research work presented in this paper is the improvement of data inversion in EC-NDT by reducing the number of function evaluations. KCD algorithm is adapted and used to detect the flawless area in the plate using eddy-current testing signals more precisely impedance measurements calculated with finite element method FEM, this step is designed to estimate flaw characteristics with the best time computation. Simulation results show the efficiency of KCD algorithm.

Biography: Abdelhalim TAIEB BRAHIMI was born in Oran, Algeria, on february 21,1964. He received his diploma in electrical engineering from the University of sciences and Technology of Oran, Algeria, in 1988, the DEA and doctorat degrees in 1989 and 1992 respectively from the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble (INPG). Since 1992 he has been at University of Sciences and Technology of Oran where si now a Professor. He is currently head of Electrical Engineering Faculty at University of Sciences and Technology of Oran. His main research fields of interest deal with machine modeling, electrical machines, design of classical and nonconventional machines, electromagnetic field analysis, numerical methods, finite element mesh generation and CAD software.
