Biography:
Matteo Corbetta received B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering at Politecnico di Milano, Italy. He is currently a research scientist with the department of mechanical engineering at Politecnico di Milano. His research interests include probabilistic and stochastic methods for diagnostics and prognostics of large structures, statistical signal processing, system failure modeling, Bayesian filtering and Monte Carlo approaches, distributed sensing and structural health monitoring. He is currently involved in international research projects and collaborations on real-time algorithms for structural health monitoring and fatigue damage prognosis of composite materials

Biography:
Dr. C. Sbarufatti is a research scientist and assistant professor with the department of mechanical engineering at Politecnico di Milano, Italy. His main research topics are sensor network design for damage and impact diagnosis, model-based structural health monitoring, prognosis of residual life under constant and variable loads, impact modeling on composite structures. He is currently involved in the management of international projects mainly focused on structural health monitoring and residual life prognosis.
