Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement Probe of 3.0 mm Dia.

We are in need of an Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement Probe of 3.0 mm diameter for taking the thickness measurements in between the fins around the Boiler Tubes. The maximum distance inbetween the fins is 4.0mm. The depth of the fins around the Boiler tubes is 8.0mm. Can any body suggest from where we can find such a probe which can be used in StressTel T Mike-E or Times TT100 Thickness Meter. Incase it does not match
with the above thickness meters than we can buy another compatible to such a probe.

We are able to make such probes, since our speciality is (among others) the manufacturing of non standard probes.

Normally with the air fin cooler system, we can choose MFL method for checking the corrosion along the tube is better than others method, ofcourse the cost is very high.

It sounds like you are trying to inspect HRSG or OTSG tubes from the outside. If you have access to the inside of the tube the ultrasonic IRIS from Pan American Industries works well to locate wall thinning and is not affected by the external fins. If you only have external access the electromagnetic PEC system could be of use. Aptech Engineering (Alberta) Ltd. supplies this service. PEC identifies wall thinning though insulation and coatings and can be effective on applicatons such as finned HRSG tubes or studded recovery boiler tubes from the tube OD.

This probes are made according to the wishes of customer. You shoul define your needs and we will make you a proposal.
