Hakeem, sorry, not a direct answer for this question. Perhaps the most "recognised" is the second party system SNT certification where your employer is ultimately responsible for certification. But generally the most widely "accepted" method is by independent third party methods using the ISO 9712 or EN-473 rules. Usually there are individual national schemes administrating these rules in each country. With so many projects going on where people move from project to project and from country to country, it would be nice to have a mutual recognition of the ISO/EN certificates. This is done at the national level. These formal recognition documents are in place in some countries but not all. Brits seem to be a well travelled lot in the NDT community and the two schemes in the UK that certify to ISO/EN seem to be the most well known. These are the CSWIP and PCN schemes. CSWIP is the older of the two and I recall the high regard we had for most of the NDT technicians that would come to Canada holding a CSWIP certification.

Hakeem,
no NDT certification scheme can be considered most recognized nor widely accepted, because all these certification schemes are contractually required.
None certification is required by any law.
So the most necessary NDT certification is that one required by the market you are working.
You could obtain a certification and a day after you could receive a requirement for another type of certification.
