Phased Array Coupling Monitoring in unequal thickness joints configuration

In Phased Array assembly set in Amplitude Mode System - Sectorial Scan.
During inspection of circumferential welds of diam. 6mt Piles where the thickness of the two section is unequal , which kind of system can be used in the side where the 1:4 slope is present? 0 deg is not usable due to slope geometry.
Is it possible to generate lateral wave to transmit at the opposite site probe that will receive and display?

Dear Max,
to check coupling only,you have to send a beam bouncing at 90° degrees on wall thickness axe,so you must calculate an incident angle compensating the slope axe angle.But be careful working on slopes is very hard and dangerous because,in the same way for conventional UT,slopes "shift" all angles an reflections,so is very hard reach good results.
