UT on nozzle with reinforcement pad

Hello,
A supplier wants to perform UT on a nozzle fit in, groove on the support tube, with a reinforcement pad all in 304L.
Obviously, I strongly push to do RT (single view, single wall, film inside the tube, radiation source outside, 30° of nozzle axe) before welding of the reinforcement pad and after.
The code is ASME VIII D1 (2013) and additonnal client requirements (asking UT or RT on fit in nozzle).
To be able to formalize my request, I want to ask to the supplier to manufacture a dedicated block with the same configuration of nozzle (radius of curvature, material in 304L ...). However, due to a lack of understanding of ASME V, I don't find the contractual § to push the supplier to manufacture it.
My question are:
Shall the § T-434.5.1 be applied? Only for straight beam? What 's about angle beam? How shall I understand the configuration of this block? The drawing is not clear for me.
Shall I understand "weld configuration to be examined, including (...) " as an essential variable for the block of calibration as well?
I would not like to do by myself such nozzle in UT. A nozzle is not so hard to do by UT, but a nozzle with a reinforcment pad all in 304L.... means a lot of geometric pluses with a lot of noise ect...

many companies provide the UT on the nozzles in addition to the code. For habit fit ASME requirements and acceptability....
If it's a customer request perhaps the best thing is to talk to him: has special reasons to check only the fusion line nozzle side (would be a bit special as required ...) or wants to control the whole welding? In the first case it would be enough reference blocks shown in fig. T-434-5-1, in the second case would take mock-ups welded according to T-451 and then you could somehow include nozzles holes as in T-434-5-1 in welded smock-ups.
As indicated in T-4-5-1 the block has a strong restriction on the nozzle thickness
( should be T.... not permissible range) and is valid in the curvature range indicated.

The weld shall be 100% controled.
I agree your conclusions.
But as the thickness is 8 mm for the shell and the pad, I disagree to use UT and I will strongly suggest to use RT before after welding the pad.

Are you expected to examine the weld after the reinforcement plate has been installed or before? I understand your reticence to examine with UT - Stainless steel, 8mm (if 8mm is the thickness of the nozzle, how thick is the main pipe?). You will not only need a calibration block but also a mock-up of the weld with side drilled holes to see whether examination with transverse angle probes is possible, otherwise longitudinal angle probes will have to be used.

I understand this is not an ASME document, but ISO 22825 may be of help in motivating the mock up request.
