Penetrameters for Digital Radiography

What density of the material should be used on penetrameters (duplex plate phantom)?
The materials which we use in my condition has max. desity 2,6 g/cm3.
What materials do you recommend?

The penetrameter material should have a representative density of the material being inspected

As described in the ASTM E2002-98, para 6.2 "The gauge shall consist of 13 elements. Each element
shall consist of a pair of wires with circular cross-section. Elements 1 through 3 are of tungsten material and elements 4 through 13 are of platinum material". The purpose of the duplex wire is to determine the Basic Spatial Resolution, and consequently the unshrpness, so the material of the wires are fixed.

For the conventional IQI (single wire) the penetrameter material should have a representative density of the material being inspected.

The Duplex (double wire) penetrameter is only used to proove the basic spatial resolution of the test and is always the same regardless of the material.
A standard penetrameter is used to check the sensitivity and should (eg 2% wall loss) and should be similar to the test material.

Despite having managed to halve the weight of similar portable X-Ray generators available on the market (while continuing to provide the same power output), the SITEX CPSERIES generators feature a shutter, a laser pointer, a beryllium window, an aluminum filter and two integrated diaphragms (customized sizes are available upon request). Without compromising the robustness and reliability for which ICM products are renowned, the small size and light weight of the SITEX CPSERIES will radically change the way that you perform your RT inspections. And you will see a positive impact in terms of both quality and return on investment (ROI).
