The word "node" has several meanings in English. For the details of what it might be in regards to welds and NDT, I suggest you get a copy of API RP2X. There is a description there of the general form as per off-shore tubular structures. That document also has instructions on how to go about plotting the very complex changes in weld profiles for these nodes and it also provides the expectations of API for the UT (and MPI) inspection of these tubular connections.
But you may not be working to API RP2X...
If you are tasked with inspecting "nodes", I would also expect that your employer would happily provide you with the regulating documents to carry out the inspection as per the client's requirements.

Athulraj

You asked a similar question 6 months ago under the title 'nozzle and node' and received 13 comprehensive replies, including an excellent source-referenced drawing copy from Volodymyr. There are a number of other threads of similar ilk.

Please state where your renewed interest in UT testing of nozzles and nodes lies so that you may be better served by the forum.

nresolved asset integrity problem in the industry. Current methods for measuring wall thickness with liftoff, without removing insulation, all have severe limitations. Eddyfi introduces Lyft — a reinvented, high-performance pulsed eddy current (PEC) solution. The patent- pending system features a state-of-the-art portable instrument, real- time C-scan imaging, fast data acquisition with grid-mapping and dynamic scanning modes, and flexibility with long cables. It can also scan through thick metal and insulation, as well as aluminum, stainless steel, and galvanized steel weather jackets. Who else but Eddyfi to reinvent an eddy current technique and redefine CUI programs. Got Lyft?
