Volumetric examination as per ASME B31.1 and regular practice

Experts,As per ASME B31.1 Table 136.4 it is mentioned RT or UT required only for pipes above NPS 2 & with thickness greater than 19mm for lesser thickness only VT is enough.but in our country(India)customer is asking 100% RT for economiser,super heater coils for which thickness most probably less than 6mm.is it a practice in other countries too?if so why?Is there any standard separately for tubes?

Code is the minimum requirement. Customer can have additional requirements as per their Company Specification. This is quite normal in the industry.

IntraPhase Athena Phased Array System
