question

I'm working in aviation, I need to comply a Service Bulletin, this bulletin require use the black light, my question is the black light required calibration? it's required the specialized service for do it this calibration?

I dont know which are the controlling documents for the scope of your work (MPI / DP) however there will be a requirement for a minimum UV-A (black light) intensity at the inspection surface. The lamp output has to be checked to ensure it meets the requirements but it is the light meter which must be calibrated.

Standard practice for checking the output of the UV-A lamp is to have a jig to fix the lamp at a specific distance (often 300mm) from the measuring UV-A meter. The output from the lamp is first checked and recorded when new using a calibrated UV-A light meter. This is usually a minimum of 1200 micro Watts per square millimetre as per the UV-A intensity requirement AT THE INSPECTION SURFACE so your controlling procedure allows this as a maximum working distance for the lamp from the examination surface. Most controlling documents simultaneously require use of a calibrated white light meter to check that ambient white light is below a certain level. Records are kept to monitor the working life and decline in output of the bulb

So its your UV-A and white light meters that requires specialized calibration service whilst the bulb's performance is monitored by a routine quality control check.

Andrea,
You don't give much info about the aircraft the SB is on. From my experience, you will find the specs for Boeing and Airbus in their Standard Operation Procedure book. For other manufacturers, check out their NDT Maintenance Manual.
