UT QUESTION

When using a focused, straight beam search unit for lamination scanning in an immersion test of a steel plate, a change in water path of 0.2 in, will result in the focal point moving in the steel a distance of?
Pls provide steps and answer, thanks.

This sounds like a classroom assignment question. Odd you should ask about a 0.2 inch change.
I do not recall the imperial units being used in Singapore when I visited some years ago. In fact, we read that the official conversion to metric occurred in 1981 in Singapore.
Instead of others working through the step by step equations for you, I suggest you go to the ultrasonic basics seen in Technical Notes (https://mbi-ctac.sites.medinfo.ufl.edu/files/2017/02/ultrasound-basics.pdf) and solve for yourself the equation #13 on page 45.
