Film Process Artifact or Film Issue
zoom image

Based on my experience on this issue of black marks and white area, I informed client it was due to their processing problem.
1) Undeveloped factor rise to the incomplete immersion of film in the developer showing clear area on film.
2) Black spots due to developer drops, dirt in duplicating machine or developer chemicals not properly dissolved.

However, my client commented that it was due to our film fault that causes this. What are your comments and expertise in this. Thanks.

Hi Mr.Jailani,
My comments regarding the film. The artifacts raised due to improper film handling and may also be due to storage.
1) The Black spots on the film clearly notes and its formed due to the static discharge ( caused while taking film out of cassette or screens)/ may also be due to film storage in pile for long time.
2) The whitened area, I couldn't able to come for a conclusion without knowing the technique, source, thickness and part.( it may caused by high temperature of fixed or running water- see if the emulsion layer is peeled off.)
